Micro BNC are used by:
Embrionix SFP Modules, Blackmagic Video Assist 5” 12G HDR
and an increasing number of users who require 12G UHD SDI in a small form factor (smaller than BNC) Also Known As HD BNC (Amphenol) where HD means High Density (where a lot of connectors can fit onto a small area).
All my cables are custom made by myself using care, experience and the right tools. Precision cable stripping and cutting are essential for 3G, 6G and 12G terminations so all of my cables are stripped and cut using a CNC cable lathe made in Switzerland by Schleuniger.

These Micro BNC plugs make a locked connection when engaged with a bayonet twist lock movement like their full size BNC connectors. When connecting to Embrionix SFP Modules two sockets are very closely spacedthis makes the unlocking ring difficult to grip with fingers.
For ease, a pair of thin nosed pliers may be used for disconnecting (connecting is straightforward). Simply grip the knurled ring and rotate it anti-clockwise to disengage the plug, Pulling on the cable, heat-shrink strain relief or ferrule will not unlock the connection unless the knurled ring is rotated. A tool is available for very high density socket arrays where plugs can only be accessed from behind.

Description

Micro BNC 75 ohm straight crimp plug. This true 75 ohm plug is designed for Full HD 1080p applications and general use up to 12GHz. With 15Uin gold plated centre contact and annealed crimp zones these connectors offer a long term durable solution. Suitable for all cables in group FA. When COAX Connectors developed their range of Micro BNC connectors, they were specifically designed to be interchangeable with HD BNCs from Amphenol. If equipment is built using HD BNCs, it is entirely safe to connect with Micro BNCs and vice versa.
United States Patent No. 9,071.013 applies.

Our Micro BNC 75 ohm connectors are designed for HD & UHD Broadcast, Telecom, HDcctv, Instrumentation and similar applications that require high performance in an high density package.  The unique patented coupling nut allows the use of a special tool to disconnect the connectors when they are closely mounted. Tested to beyond 12GHz and exceeding the requirements of SMPTE ST 2082-1, these connectors are used in Full HD1080p (3G), HD-SDI and are fit for Ultra HD 4K (12G) applications.  With a diameter of only 7.8 mm, mounting density is increased by 4 times when compared with a standard BNC.
